FADE IN:
Story breathes life.
That's been Project Kaleidoscope's goal ever since day 1, some time in March of 2007, when I first picked up my pen and began outlining the story of my first short film, Sabongero (Cockfighter). Since then, Project Kaleidoscope has amassed a diverse collection of stories, concepts, and slice-of-life portraitures that have visually represented the transformative power of storytelling.

It all started with a dream.
The Project Kaleidoscope Story
Like most great ideas, the idea for Project Kaleidoscope came to me while I was in the shower on a freezing day in 2003. I was living in bustling, fantastical New York City at that time with the objective of earning my MBA as a promise to my traditional Filipino parents. However, as with any gripping movie with a climactic twist, I ended up enrolling in a 10-week Screenwriting for Beginners course instead to fulfill my 13-year-old self's dream of becoming a Screenwriter.
While learning all about the basics of screenwriting at Gotham Writers Workshop, I got to have a glimpse of the entire Filmmaking process, which made me decide to enroll in a 12-week 16MM Filmmaking course at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in 2006. After NYFA, I was still eking out a day job as an Accounting Assistant for a non-profit, but during nights and weekends, I eagerly volunteered at film festivals and screening events to get a better understanding of the nuts and bolts of the film & entertainment industry. Some of my most unforgettable experiences include the Independent Film Project's (IFP) Film Market & Conference Week, the Gotham Awards, and the Tribeca Film Festival.
After collaborating on a slew of commercial and passion-type projects in New York City between 2009 - 2012, I moved back to the Philippines to take care of my mother who had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. This time, I finally took the leap of faith and focused my time and energy full-time as a Filmmaker. Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to collaborate with so many amazing creatives, production studios, and corporate clients, working on a kaleidoscopic assortment of projects that lets me keep living out my dream of bringing stories to life.
